Thursday's Headlines - BENDIS Recovering After Near-Lethal Infection

Brian Michael Bendis has revealed a several health scare which happened last week - a MRSA infection which left him unconscious and temporarily blinded, leading to a four-day hospitalization in Portland's Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.

In a series of tweets, the writer detailed the situation and expressed thanks to his friends and family.

"So, one week ago I woke up in intensive care because of a surprise MRSA infection that grabbed & blinded me for 4 days. this was the worst week of my life. I almost died on Monday. it'll take months to recover. i wasn't even going to share it was so bad," Bendis tweeted. "My wife literally saved my life. my friends surrounded me in a wall of love. Fraction didn't leave my bedside for two days. My face had swelled shut. [David Walker, Michael Avon Oeming, Taki Soma] (and many non comics pals) just descended on my family & kept my kids safe."

Bendis is now back home recovering, but has cancelled an upcoming convention appearance in Portugal and warned of delays to some of his Marvel and DC work.
