Friday's Headlines - LUCASFILM Courting Director For OBI-WAN KENOBI

A Star Wars anthology film centered on Obi-Wan Kenobi is in development at Lucasfilm with The Hours director Stephen Daldry in talks to helm the production, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The reported project is in the "earliest of stages" with no screenplay in place, but with the idea that Daldry - if hired - would oversee the writing of it.

It isn't known if Ewan McGregor would reprise his role for this film, but he did voiceover work in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and has been enthusiastic about playing the character again when asked in other interviews.

In addition to the Han Solo film currently underway, solo films for Yoda and Boba Fett have been discused for these non-episodic Star Wars anthology films.
