Friday's Feed - Hellboy III In Works?

Director Guillermo Del Toro has added fuel to a possible fire for Hellboy 3, tweeting that he's ready to meet with actor Ron Perlman about reprising his role as Hellboy. Del Toro also indicated that the next step would be to meet with Hellboy creator Mike Mignola about the potential sequel.

The previous Hellboy film, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, was released in theaters in 2008. Since then, it has been unclear if a third film was in development, despite Hellboy II's twist ending, which portended a sequel. Last year, Mignola went on record saying “I’ll believe it when I see it. There’s nothing I can do to make those things happen."

Back in July 2015, Del Toro said Hellboy 3 wasn't being made at the time due to Legandary Pictures, which owns the film rights to Hellboy, balking at the $120m budget he had proposed. The director did go on to say, however, that should his planned 2018 film Pacific Rim: Uprising (also at Legendary) do well, Hellboy 3 could be greenlit. Since then, however, Legendary Pictures has gone under new management.

Boom! Son.
