Happy Birthday! Clark Gregg Turns 54 Today

Gregg’s profile received a huge boost when he debuted as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson in Iron Man. As the connective tissue between many of Marvel Studios’ Phase One films, Gregg’s Coulson appeared in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and The Avengers.

Gregg’s Coulson has stayed a fan-favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the lead in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But Gregg and Coulson’s contributions to Marvel aren’t limited to the live-action universe. Gregg also voices the character in Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, where Coulson holds a recurring role as Peter Parker’s high school principal. In addition, Coulson's character proved so popular that Marvel has since debuted him in the comics as well.


Happy Birthday! Michael Fassbender Turns 39 Today!

Happy birthday, Michael Fassbender! Today is the X-Men: Apocalypse star's 39th birthday. Fassbender was born in Heidelberg, Germany on April 2, 1977. He plays the powerful, young Magneto in Fox's X-Men movie franchise, and will soon star in the upcoming Assassin's Creed.

Fassbender got his first role in 2000's TV mini-series, Hearts and Bones. Since then, you've come to know Fassbender from his roles in Inglorious Basterds, Prometheus, X-Men: First Class, and X-Men: Days Of Future Past. He has played dozens of other roles alongside A-list stars and quickly risen to the top over the 16-year span of his career.

Remembering Sir Alec Guinness On His Birthday

Today is the late actor Sir Alec Guinness’ birthday.

One of the 20th century’s leading actors in his prime, Guinness will be forever known to most as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Guinness portrayed the Jedi master in Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. As the face of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters, it is Guinness’ likeness that everyone sees when Obi-Wan appears in animation, art, or video games, and even though he isn't still with us, his presence was felt in every part of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.

Guinness also held memorable roles in iconic films like Lawrence of Arabia, Scrooge, andThe Comedians. After a long and successful career, Guinness passed away at the age of 86 in 2000.
Born in Sussex, England, Guinness would have turned 102 today.
